Graduate work: Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan and Grand Valley State University, Grand Rapids, MI. While growing up in East Grand Rapids, Michigan I had the wonderful training from private studio teachers: Mrs. J. Litscher Pianist/Harpist, Grand Rapids Symphony; Mrs. Lucille Dinsmore, and Mr. Norman Greenwood, Pianist/organist, Grace Episcopal Church; in college: Ms. Isabelle Gemmen and Mrs. Mack Thomas, both accomplished Eastman and Juilliard graduates. Under Mrs. Helen Harantun's tutelage in Joplin, Missouri, 1979, I was asked to join the National Guild of Piano Teachers and have been a member ever since, serving most recently since 1989 as the Audition Chairman here in Western Michigan (including: Muskegon, Spring Lake, Grand Haven). I attend the majority of professional seminars, most notably: John Schaum, Ralph Votapeck, Gleda Austin, William Gillock, and Suzuki.
